Here's the deal:
If you're studying social work in undergraduate or graduate school and are confused about how to find your first job out of school, pay off student loan debt in this lifetime, or develop the skills to have the best career possible...
Then I'll help you get where you want to be.
Or if you're if you're already working as a social worker—but your career is not where you want it to be—then you're in the right place.
I'm a big believer that today's social workers MUST master the art of self care, productivity, and behavior change.
That's where Social Worker Success comes in.
Everything I publish is actionable or educational with the purpose to help you learn new skills to be a better social worker.
Oh, while you're here make sure you sign up for free updates to learn the proven skills and strategies that I'm talking about:
I am Nate Crowell, the founder of Social Worker Success.
I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) and Private Independent Practitioner (PIP) practicing clinical social work in Birmingham, Alabama. I graduated from the University of Alabama School of Social Work (Roll Tide).
During my 14 years (and counting) of experience in social services and mental health, I have navigated my way through many career paths and challenges:
- graduate school and licensing exams
- job searching and salary negotiations
- field work and clinical supervision
- student loans and private practice
- systemic and resource challenges
I've not only survived but thrived. But. . .
I made a lot of mistakes along the way. I want to teach social workers how to avoid the mistakes I made and have successful professional and personal lives.
Right now I have two passions: serving veterans and their families and serving social workers. My career experience includes community mental health, family and child therapy, geriatric case management, adoption home studies, and consulting nonprofits.
When I'm not getting my social-work-on, I'm spending quality time with my amazing wife Jen and our daughter [who is also amazing :-)].
